Review
The combination of solo double bass and chorus is lovely and allows the best of both worlds to shine without any balance problems or timbral competition. The multi-talented bassist, composer, improviser, arranger, and instrument inventor Tuomo Haapala has teamed up with the composer Marie Selander and they have written a delightful work for three-part treble chorus and solo bass. It is very accessible work for the audience, very singable for the choir, and very playable for the bass player.
